Army chief calls Raisi true friend of Pakistan

 


In a heartfelt message, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir of Pakistan expressed his deep condolences to Iran over the tragic deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a helicopter crash on May 19.


Speaking with Iranian Chief of General Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri, General Munir referred to Raisi and Abdollahian as exceptional leaders and true friends of Pakistan, highlighting their significant contributions to fostering strong ties between the two nations.

Munir underscored the historical and cultural bonds shared by Pakistan and Iran, emphasizing the importance of maintaining and strengthening these relations.
He extended his prayers and well-wishes to the families of the deceased, expressing solidarity with the people of Iran during this difficult time.
