Atlanta United registered a resounding 3-1 victory against the Eastern Conference leaders, Inter Miami FC, putting an end to their nine-game winless streak. The match marked a significant milestone for Atlanta as they secured their 100th win in club history in style.


Head coach Gonzalo Pineda expressed his pride in the team's mentality, attributing the triumph to their unwavering resilience. Pineda also praised the fans for their unwavering support, noting the vibrant presence in the stands that spurred the players on.


From the outset, Atlanta United sought to disrupt Miami's possession-based game, amassing several scoring opportunities in the early exchanges. Despite Miami's dominance in possession, Atlanta's attacking verve proved decisive. Brooks Lennon came close in the 10th minute with a shot narrowly missing the target.


Josh Cohen, making his MLS debut for Atlanta, pulled off a crucial save in the 20th minute, although the play was flagged offside. Set-pieces posed a threat for Atlanta, with Jamal Thiare and Derrick Williams coming close after a well-worked corner kick routine.


Atlanta's breakthrough arrived in the 44th minute courtesy of a stunning strike from Saba Lobjanidze. The midfielder seized possession in midfield before embarking on a solo run that culminated in a fierce shot from outside the box, leaving Miami's defense helpless.


The second half saw Atlanta maintain their momentum, doubling their lead through Lobjanidze's second goal in the 59th minute. The Georgian showcased composure and clinical finishing to put the game out of Miami's reach, assisted by Thiago Almada and Brooks Lennon.


Reflecting on his stellar performance, Lobjanidze expressed confidence in his ability to make an impact when given space on the ball. The win not only ended Atlanta's winless run but also signified a statement of intent as they overcame the conference leaders with a commanding display of attacking prowess.
