Now It's Not Okay: Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle Suspended Over Complaint

The Labour Party has suspended MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle due to a complaint about his behavior, deeming him ineligible to run in the upcoming July 4 election. Russell-Moyle, the MP for Brighton Kemptown, believes the complaint to be "vexatious and politically motivated" and is cooperating with the investigation to clear his name.

Russell-Moyle received a complaint letter "out of the blue" from an anonymous person, which he claims is a "false allegation" designed to disrupt the election. Despite his denial, the Labour Party is taking the complaint seriously and is investigating it in line with their rules and procedures.

The MP is disappointed and feels the investigation process takes too long, leaving him unable to defend himself in time for the election. He has expressed his commitment to contributing to public life in different ways and still hopes for a Labour government.

The Labour Party's ruling National Executive Committee will meet on Tuesday to finalize the list of party candidates. The Electoral Commission's deadline for election candidates to register is Friday, June 7.

Other candidates running in Brighton Kemptown include Khobi Vallis for the Conservatives, Elaine Hills for the Greens, Stewart Stone for the Liberal Democrats, Kellie-Jay Keen for the Party of Women, Valerie Gray for the Social Democratic Party, and Elaine Ghoneim for the Workers Party of Britain.
