Babar Azam Surpasses Virat Kohli to Become Leading T20I Run Scorer

In a remarkable achievement, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has overtaken Indian batsman Virat Kohli to become the all-time leading run scorer in T20I cricket. Babar's impressive knock of 44 off 43 balls against the USA in Pakistan's opening Group A encounter took his total runs to 4067 from 113 innings, surpassing Kohli's tally of 4038 runs from 110 innings.
Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, follows closely in third place with 4026 runs from 144 innings. The top five is completed by Ireland captain Paul Stirling and former New Zealand opener Martin Guptill.
Babar's milestone comes ahead of the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan on Sunday at the Nassau County Stadium in New York. The trio of Babar, Kohli, and Rohit will all be in action, making for a thrilling contest.
The match against the USA saw Babar lead Pakistan to a total of 159/7, with Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi making notable contributions. The USA bowlers, led by Noshtush Kenjinge, put up a respectable performance, but Pakistan's batting prowess ultimately proved too strong.
This achievement solidifies Babar's position as one of the greatest T20I batsmen, and he will look to continue his impressive form in the upcoming matches.
