Chappell Roan Rocks "Good Luck, Babe!" After Funny Interview on The Tonight Show

Pop singer Chappell Roan's recent success might seem sudden to some, but she assures us it's been a long time coming. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on June 20th, Roan shared a photo from her earlier days, performing alone at a tiny venue while working at a doughnut shop.

This interview followed Roan's massive crowd at Governor's Ball just weeks prior. After a hilarious chat with Fallon, she delivered a captivating performance of her new single "Good Luck, Babe!", complete with a fantastical feather-filled outfit.

Fallon asked Roan how she feels about her newfound fame.

"Feels like I was right all along," Roan joked. She admitted to feeling successful even with smaller audiences in the past, seeing the recent surge as the cherry on top.

Roan's performance of "Good Luck, Babe!" was a surefire crowd-pleaser.

During the interview, Fallon brought up a quote from Roan's Coachella performance: "I'm Chappell Roan, and I'm your favorite artists' favorite artist."

Turns out, this was a tribute to drag queen Sasha Colby, winner of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15, known for saying "I'm your favorite drag queens' favorite drag queen." Roan, a big fan, hoped Colby would see her and understand the reference. Her wish came true, as Colby shared the clip on her Instagram stories later that night.

Roan's interview is available to watch online.

The singer brought her powerful vocals and a head-to-toe feathered outfit to Studio 6B for the performance.

"We draw inspiration from everywhere," Roan explained about her unique style, citing drag, horror movies, burlesque, and theater. "I love looking pretty and scary, pretty and tacky, or even not pretty at all!"

The stage was transformed into a fairytale scene with a majestic swan throne serving as Roan's backdrop.
