Indiana Fever vs. New York Liberty

The Indiana Fever are aiming to secure their first winning streak of the 2022 regular season and clinch a victory in the Commissioner’s Cup as they face the New York Liberty at Barclays Center tonight at 8 p.m. ET. This matchup marks the first of three meetings between the two teams this season.

Leading the charge for Indiana is Kelsey Mitchell, the fifth-highest scorer in the league, averaging 19.7 points per game in the first three games of the season. Mitchell's standout performance came in the previous game with a season-high 26 points in a victory against the Minnesota Lynx.

On the other hand, the New York Liberty, under new head coach Sandy Brondello, kicked off their home opener with a thrilling 81-79 win against the Connecticut Sun but suffered a setback in their recent game against the Chicago Sky, falling 83-50.

The Liberty struggled offensively, shooting only 20 percent from the field, with Chicago dominating from beyond the arc.

In the upcoming game, Indiana will aim to maintain their defensive edge, especially in shutting down their opponents’ 3-point shooting. The Fever have outscored their opponents in 3-point field goals in every game this season, a marked improvement from the previous year.

Looking ahead, after their matchup with the Liberty, the Fever will return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a series of games against the Atlanta Dream, followed by a special event on May 22 where the 2012 WNBA title-winning team will be honored during the game against the Connecticut Sun.

Fans can still purchase tickets for the event at FeverBasketball.com and are encouraged to wear red to celebrate the historic moments of the franchise.
