Sania Mirza's Father Dismisses Wedding Rumours with Mohammad Shami

A photo showing tennis star Sania Mirza and Indian cricketer Mohammad Shami dressed in wedding attire has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread speculation about a possible union between the two sports icons. However, Sania's father, Imran Mirza, has stepped forward to dispel the rumors, labelling them as baseless.

Tennis sensation Sania Mirza has been in the spotlight ever since her divorce from Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. The latest buzz surrounding her purported relationship with Mohammad Shami has captured public interest, thanks to a digitally altered image making the rounds online.

Imran Mirza, addressing an Indian media outlet, categorically denied any truth to the rumours. "This is all rubbish. She has not even met him," he stated, putting to rest the swirling speculations.

The chatter began just days after both Sania and Shami openly shared their thoughts about the prospect of a second marriage, which led fans to conjecture a possible romantic connection between the two athletes.

Sania and Shoaib Malik’s marriage in April 2010 had been a high-profile event, and the couple has a son, Izhaan Mirza-Malik. Yet, talks of their separation had been circulating for some time, culminating in Shoaib's announcement of his second marriage to Pakistani actor Sana Javed.

In January, it was officially confirmed that Sania Mirza had initiated separation proceedings from Shoaib Malik. Meanwhile, Mohammad Shami has been estranged from his wife, Hasin Jahan, whom he married in 2014. The couple also has a child together.

Adding another layer to the rumours, Sania Mirza announced earlier this month her plans to depart for Hajj, maintaining her silence on the marriage gossip during this period.

By addressing the issue promptly, Imran Mirza has tried to put an end to the unfounded rumours, urging the public to dismiss the morphed image and groundless claims as mere fabrication.
