Sounders FC Celebrates Pride Month with Various Festivities


Sounders FC is proud to celebrate Pride Month throughout June, demonstrating its long-standing commitment to supporting and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. The club has lined up several events and initiatives to promote inclusivity and diversity.
Gender Diverse Youth Clinic
On June 1, Sounders FC will host its third annual Gender Diverse Youth Clinic in partnership with Starbucks, Seattle Reign FC, and TransFamilies. The clinic will provide a fun afternoon of soccer skills and play for gender diverse youth and their siblings.
Progress Pride Flag Raising
On June 21, the Progress Pride Flag will be raised at Lumen Field, representing BIPOC and transgender community members. Sounders players, Reign players, and representatives from Emerald City Supporters, TransFamilies, and Starbucks will participate in the flag-raising ceremony.
Annual Pride Match
On June 22, Sounders FC will celebrate its annual Pride match against FC Dallas, presented by Starbucks. The event will feature LGBTQ+ and diverse-owned food vendors, Pride-themed pre-match tops, and an online auction to benefit RAVE Foundation.
Supporting LGBTQ+-owned Small Businesses
Sounders FC, Intentionalist, and the Seattle professional sports community are encouraging fans to support LGBTQ+-owned small businesses through the "Spend Like It Matters" campaign. Fans can upload receipts from qualifying businesses to win prizes and help achieve the goal of spending $30,000 at LGBTQ+-owned businesses in June.
Seattle Pride Parade
On June 30, Sounders FC will participate in the 50th Seattle Pride Parade, marching alongside fellow Seattle professional sports teams to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
These events and initiatives demonstrate Sounders FC's ongoing commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
