SEC Approves Options Listings for Bitcoin ETFs on NYSE

The U.S. SEC Approves Options Listings for Bitcoin ETFs on NYSE

granted accelerated approval for 11 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to list options linked to spot bitcoin prices on the New York Stock Exchange. This regulatory move marks a significant step for the cryptocurrency sector, following the SEC's earlier approval of bitcoin ETFs in January.

Among the approved funds are the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, ARK21Shares Bitcoin ETF, Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF, Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, and iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF. These options will provide institutional investors with new tools to hedge their bitcoin exposure effectively.

Options are derivatives that give holders the right to buy or sell an asset at a predetermined price by a specific date, allowing for enhanced trading strategies in volatile markets. The approval follows a similar decision made last month for BlackRock's bitcoin ETF options on Nasdaq.

This development reflects growing acceptance of cryptocurrency investment vehicles in traditional finance, potentially increasing institutional interest and participation in the bitcoin market.
