Cristiano Ronaldo Excluded from Al Nassr’s AFC Champions League Match in Iran

Cristiano Ronaldo will not travel with Al Nassr for their AFC Champions League round of 16 match against Esteghlal in Iran.

The decision comes amid concerns that the Portuguese star could face legal consequences, including a potential punishment of 99 lashes for adultery, stemming from an incident in 2023 where he kissed and hugged a disabled artist.

Esteghlal refused to move the match to a neutral venue, prompting Al Nassr to leave Ronaldo out of the squad to avoid any legal risks.

The situation has sparked controversy, with fans and analysts debating the implications for Ronaldo’s career and the broader intersection of sports and cultural norms.
