Kieran Culkin Wins Best Supporting Actor at the 97th Academy Awards

Kieran Culkin took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Benji in Jesse Eisenberg’s A Real Pain. This marked his first Oscar win and nomination, completing his awards sweep after winning the Golden Globe, BAFTA, SAG Award, and more.

In his heartfelt speech, Culkin humorously reminded his wife, Jazz Charton, of her promise to have more kids if he won an Oscar, saying, “I want four.” He also praised Eisenberg, calling him a “genius” for creating the film.

A Real Pain follows two cousins on a Holocaust tour in Poland, blending themes of Jewish identity, generational trauma, and humor. Culkin’s performance was widely praised for its earnestness and depth.

Culkin, known for his role as Roman Roy in Succession, has come a long way since his childhood debut in Home Alone. His win solidifies his place as one of Hollywood’s most versatile actors.
