Christchurch, 14 March 2025: Pakistan, led by captain Salman Ali Agha, is gearing up for an exciting five-match T20I series against New Zealand, starting Sunday, 16 March. The series opener will take place at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, with the first ball set to be bowled at 2:15 PM local time.
The action will continue with the second match at University Oval in Dunedin on 18 March, followed by the third game at Eden Park in Auckland on 21 March. The series will conclude with the fourth and fifth T20Is at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, and Sky Stadium in Wellington on 23 and 26 March, respectively.
Following the T20Is, a three-match ODI series will be held from 29 March to 5 April.
Pakistan arrived in Christchurch on Thursday and held their first training session on Friday. Prior to their departure, the squad underwent a pre-series camp from 7 to 10 March at the LCCA Ground in Lahore.
The team features three uncapped players – Abdul Samad, Hasan Nawaz, and Mohammad Ali – who earned their spots after standout performances in domestic cricket.
Pakistan holds a slight edge over New Zealand in their T20I head-to-head record, with 23 wins out of 44 matches compared to New Zealand’s 19 victories. Their last T20I series in 2024 ended in a 2-2 draw, with one match abandoned due to rain.
Captain Salman Ali Agha, who led Pakistan to a 2-1 series win in Zimbabwe, expressed confidence in the team’s preparations:
“We are well-prepared and aim to deliver strong results in New Zealand. This is a great opportunity for our young players to shine on the international stage.”
